All complaints concerning Michigan Tech's Department of Public Safety and Police Services personnel are taken seriously and will be investigated thoroughly and impartially. Persons wishing to make a formal complaint against a department employee can do so through this online form. They may also email the Chief of Police (Brian Cadwell) directly at bjcadwel@mtu.edu or call his office at 906-487-0327 (Direct line).
Complaints may be filed anonymously. Anonymous complaints will be investigated the same as complaints where the complainant is known. However, where appropriate, those wishing to make an anonymous complaint should be advised that not being able to follow-up with them could limit any subsequent investigation.
The mere filing of this complaint does not substantiate the allegations. If an investigation determines the employee acted improperly, appropriate correctional action will be taken. If contact information is provided, you will be notified of the results when the investigation is complete.
