Complaint Disclaimer
The Mount Prospect Police Department takes seriously all complaints regarding the service provided by and the conduct of its members. Your complaint will be objectively investigated by this department as soon as practical.
Anonymous and third-party complaints will be accepted and investigated in the same manner as complaints from known persons.
Filing a complaint in person is preferred, as our on-duty supervisor can get additional information from you to begin our Department’s investigation of the incident. However, we will also accept complaints in writing, by telephone, email, or through our online portal.
The Mount Prospect Police Department will provide you with the results of your complaint at the conclusion of our investigation.
All complaints against Mount Prospect Police Officers will be investigated within the guidelines of the Uniform Peace Officers Disciplinary Act and according to departmental policies and procedures.
