Police Vacation Watch Program Disclaimer

The Vacation Watch Program is a courtesy service provided by the Prospect Police Department to assist residents in safeguarding their home while out of town. While every effort will be made to monitor your property during the requested dates, please understand vacation checks are a secondary function of the police department. Participation in the program is subject to the following conditions:

1. This program does not guarantee the prevention of theft, loss, damage, or any other criminal activity.

2. The police department will make random checks as staffing, call volume, and primary responsibilities permit, but continuous surveillance is not provided.

3. Participation in this program does not create a special duty or legal obligation on the part of the police department or the City of Prospect, KY, to provide daily checks of your home.

4. Property owners remain solely responsible for taking all necessary steps to secure their home, such as locking doors and windows, using alarm systems, arranging for mail or package collection, and notifying trusted neighbors or family members.

5. The Prospect Police Department, its officers, and the municipality shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, or criminal activity that may occur during the period of your absence.

By submitting a request for the house watch service, the homeowner acknowledges and accepts these terms.
