***OVERNIGHT PARKING - LIMITED EXCEPTION***  Overnight parking is prohibited on any village street where signs designate parking restrictions (e.g. resident-only parking, time-restricted parking).  Requests for parking exceptions or overnight parking permission must be submitted before 12:01 A.M. of the calendar day requested, to avoid a citation.  For example, if today is April 3, and you request permission to park overnight, you will enter April 4 so the system recognizes the overnight parking request leading into the day ahead.

All vehicles receiving permission MUST otherwise be parked legally. Each household is allowed 3 DAYS of parking permission per month.  When entering license plate information, all stacked characters must be entered.  For example Electric Vehicle, 1234EL; Prevent Violence, 12345PV; White Sox, 12345WS.  Requests requiring special consideration, or requests to park an oversized vehicle such as box trucks, RV's, trailers, etc. must be made by calling police records during regular business hours at 708-453-2121 (Business hours - Monday through Friday 8 AM to 3:30 PM).  If calling after hours, please ask to speak to a police shift supervisor who may grant parking permission.  Requests for overnight parking permission will be denied when snow removal operations are in effect.  Permission to park a commercial vehicle overnight will also be denied.  Vehicles entered improperly in the parking management system may be cited. A request for parking permission made after a citation is issued will not void the citation.

***VACATION WATCH REQUEST***  House checks are considered only when the home is vacant for a minimum of 3 DAYS. Apartment buildings, condos, & houses that are for sale are not eligible for a vacation watch. A homeowner can request a maximum of 28 DAYS of vacation watches per calendar year, with a 2 WEEK limit per request. Requests that exceed 28 DAYS will be denied. Submitting this request does not remove your responsibility for making every attempt to protect your property while you are away. The department will make every effort to check your property, but only as priority calls or call volume allows. If someone is staying at the premises, a watch may not be granted.  For additional information please call the police department, Monday through Friday 8 AM through 3:30 PM 708-453-2121.
