Please be aware that the Vacation Watch house checks are considered only when the unattached home or duplex is vacant for a minimum of two days, and a maximum of two weeks per watch. If someone is staying at the premises in the homeowner’s absence, a vacation watch will not be granted.

Submitting this Vacation Watch request does not remove your responsibility as a homeowner from making every attempt to protect your property while you are away (securing doors/windows, lights on timers, stopping mail/newspaper service, etc.). Please keep in mind that the South Padre Island Police Department will make every effort to check your property, but only as priority calls or call volume allows.

*Note – We cannot accommodate vacation watches in high rise condominiums or apartment buildings.  Houses that are for sale are not eligible for the Vacation Watch program.

Using this Online Citizens' Police Reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free.  There are only certain reports that can be filed online without officer interaction and they include: lost property (determined not to be a theft), a theft that is less than $100, a civil matter, phone harassment, vandalism, graffiti, non-criminal incident that you would like documented etc.

To use the Online Citizens' Police Reporting system, please make sure of the following:     

·       This is NOT an emergency (if so Call 911).

·       This incident occurred within the South Padre Island city limits (The cities jurisdiction does not include Isla Blanca Park or beach  accesses on the north end of the Island past the convention center).

·       That you have an email account to receive updates on your report. A valid email is required for successful report submission and will need to be authenticated prior to submitting report.

·       Please turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report.

If you have confirmed all of the above, you are ready to file your report online.

I understand that participation in the South Padre Island Police Department’s Special needs At-Risk registry is voluntary. The information I provide including any medical history, diagnosis, medication and any other information is protected by HIPPA is of my choosing. I further understand that the South Padre Island Police Department will not disclose this information and it is solely for the use of the program. This information will be used by responding officers only in order to assist them in their duties. I further understand that I can withdraw this information and from the program at any time by contacting the South Padre Island Police Department.
